PARTY WITH ROOT BOY!

A gem from Mr Mike's (Michael O'Donohue) Mondo Video. I love the footage of NYC in the Seventies. The Root Boy Slim band, featuring our friend Ron Holloway on sax, was one-of-a-kind. Marti and I saw them often during our Washington DC days.

I remember a cold January evening when we gathered with a number of our friends at La Fonda Mexican Restaurant to celebrate my 40th birthday. Then the hardcores among us went on to catch a late set by Root Boy at Desperado's in Georgetown.

Nobody puked, but one of our guests got into a car accident during the 10-minute ride to the venue.
