JUNE 16, 2012 – PARIS SATURDAY

My latest video depicts a sunny Saturday afternoon stroll in the City of Light. Footage shot in the 1st and 2nd arrondissements of Paris. Locations include the Jardin du Palais Royal, Rue Croix des Petits Champs, Place des Victoires, Rue Etienne Marcel, Rue Montorgueil, Rue Greneta, Rue Saint Denis and Boulevard de Sebastopol.

The music track is called "In The Jimmy's Bar" and features Philippe Brun (trumpet), Alex Renard (trumpet), Alix Combelle (clarinet), Charlie Lewis (piano), Django Reinhardt (lead guitar), Pierre "Baro" Ferret (guitar), Emmanuel Soudieux (bass). It was recorded here in Paris on March 22, 1940. Jimmie “The Barman” Charters’ memoirs of Montparnasse in the 1920s constitute my favorite account of that era. I have reread his book This Must Be The Place many times.

Looks like Montparnasse should be the subject of my next video.
